THE OMAR KHADR PROJECT

PDF Print E-mail

The Omar Khadr Project is an organization of law students and young lawyers from across the country who believe that respect for human rights is a fundamental Canadian value. Indeed, these values define who we are as a nation. To derogate from them, even in the name of national security, is to reduce ourselves.

So far, students from 13 law schools across Canada are coordinating with the Omar Khadr Project: Toronto, Osgoode, UBC, Ottawa, McGill, Saskatchewan, Victoria, Dalhousie, Windsor, Queen's, Western, Alberta and Calgary.

We add our voices to the various non-governmental organizations, law societies, faith groups, political parties,  and ordinary Canadians demanding the immediate repatriation of Omar Khadr.  We do so because Canada’s response to the case of Omar Khadr represents a betrayal of justice and a betrayal of Canadian values.
